Make long numbers easy to read by adding thousands separators: 1234567.89 becomes 1,234,567.89. Paste a single number, a list, or a whole report, and every number is formatted in place while the rest of the text stays exactly as it was.
Choose the style your readers expect: commas (US and UK), periods with a decimal comma (much of Europe), narrow spaces (French and SI style), apostrophes (Swiss) or Indian lakh and crore grouping. Numbers that already have separators are converted, years like 2026 are left alone, and decimals can be rounded. Everything runs in your browser.

Features
Five grouping styles
1,234,567.89 · 1.234.567,89 · 1 234 567,89 · 1'234'567.89 · 12,34,567.89.
Formats inside text
Numbers in sentences, tables and lists are formatted while words and punctuation stay untouched.
Converts existing formats
Turn 1,234.5 into 1.234,5 or the other way round in one step.
Years and codes protected
Four-digit years, numbers with leading zeros and codes like ID12345 are left as they are.
Exact rounding
Round to 0–3 decimal places using exact decimal arithmetic, so 2.675 rounds to 2.68.
Negative numbers and dates
Minus signs are kept, while the hyphens in dates and ranges are not mistaken for them.
Thousands separators around the world
English-speaking countries group thousands with commas and use a period for decimals. Much of continental Europe and South America does the reverse, with periods between thousands and a decimal comma. France and the international SI style use a thin space, Switzerland often uses an apostrophe, and India groups the first three digits and then every two (lakh and crore).
Using the expected format avoids costly misunderstandings: 1.250 means one and a quarter in the US but one thousand two hundred and fifty in Germany.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add commas to numbers?
Paste your text and keep the 1,234,567.89 style selected. Every number with five or more digits gets a comma between each group of three digits.
Why is 2026 not changed to 2,026?
Four-digit whole numbers are usually years, PINs or codes, so they are left alone by default. Turn off “Leave 4-digit numbers alone” to format them too, as in 5,000.
Can I convert European numbers to US format?
Yes. Choose “Decimal comma” for the input and the 1,234,567.89 output style. 1.234.567,5 becomes 1,234,567.5.
Which space is used for the space style?
A narrow no-break space, as recommended by the SI and French typography. It keeps the digit groups on one line and looks right in documents and on the web.
How does Indian number grouping work?
The last three digits form one group and the remaining digits are grouped in pairs, so ten million is written 1,00,00,000 (one crore).
Is my data uploaded?
No. Numbers are formatted in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
