Turn any text into rAnDoM cAsE, where each letter is randomly upper or lower case. It is the style people use for sarcastic or mocking replies, playful usernames, memes and eye-catching social posts.
Unlike a strict alternating pattern, the result looks genuinely random, yet never has long runs of the same case unless you want it to. Choose how many letters become capitals, shuffle for a fresh variation, and copy the result. Punctuation, numbers, emoji and spacing stay exactly as they were.

Press Shuffle again until you like the look, then copy or download the result.
Features
Truly random mix
Each letter is chosen at random, so the result never looks like a mechanical aLtErNaTiNg pattern.
Adjustable capitals
Choose anywhere from all lowercase to all uppercase, or the classic half-and-half mix.
No long runs
Optionally limit runs to two letters of the same case, so every word looks mixed.
Shuffle again
Get a new random variation of the same text with one click.
Text stays intact
Only the case of letters changes; spaces, punctuation, numbers and emoji are untouched.
Any language
Works with accented letters and other alphabets that have upper and lower case, like Greek and Cyrillic.
Random case vs alternating case
Alternating case switches strictly between lower and upper case: aLtErNaTiNg. Random case decides each letter independently, which looks more natural and less predictable, and is the style most often used in mocking memes.
Need a fixed pattern, or UPPERCASE, lowercase and Title Case? Our Case Converter handles those, including alternating and inverse case.
Frequently asked questions
What is random case?
Random case is text where each letter is randomly capitalised or not, for example “tHiS iS rAnDoM cAsE”. It is often used to imitate a mocking tone online.
Why does the result change when I press Shuffle again?
A new random pattern is generated each time. Keep shuffling until you like the result; your text itself is never changed apart from letter case.
What does “Avoid long runs” do?
It prevents more than two letters in a row from having the same case, so short words like “the” never stay all lowercase. Turn it off for a purely random result.
Can I make most letters uppercase?
Yes. Move the Uppercase letters slider to the right. At 100% every letter is uppercase, at 0% every letter is lowercase.
Are numbers, emoji and punctuation changed?
No. Only letters that have an upper and a lower case form are changed. Everything else stays exactly as you typed it.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
