About TextNEX
TextNEX is a free collection of 42 online text tools for writers, students, marketers, developers and anyone who works with text. Count, convert, clean, sort, compare and extract text in seconds, without installing software, creating an account, or uploading your words anywhere.
Why we built TextNEX
Most of us handle text all day: drafting posts with a character limit, tidying up content pasted from a PDF, removing duplicate lines from a list, or checking how long an essay takes to read. Many online tools for these jobs are slow, cluttered with pop-ups, or quietly send your text to a server. TextNEX was created to do these everyday tasks quickly and privately, with one focused tool for each job and results that update as you type.
Private by design
Every tool on TextNEX runs entirely inside your web browser. The text you type or paste is processed on your own device and is never uploaded to our servers or stored. That makes the tools safe for drafts, client work and other content you would rather keep to yourself, and it means they keep working quickly even with very large documents. Our principles
- Free and open to everyone. No sign-up, no usage limits, no paywalls.
- Your text stays yours. Processing happens on your device; nothing you enter is sent or saved.
- Accurate with real-world text. The tools handle accented letters, emoji, many languages and scripts, and messy formatting, not just plain English.
- Honest results. Each tool page explains how results are calculated, so you know exactly what is being counted or changed.
- Fast and accessible. Clean pages that work on phones and desktops, with keyboard support and light and dark themes.
How the tools are built and tested
Each tool is developed and tested separately. Its processing logic is covered by automated tests with empty input, everyday text, very large documents, Unicode, accented letters and special characters, and every button is checked in a real browser on desktop and mobile layouts before the tool goes live. When we find an edge case that gives a wrong result, we fix it and add a test so it stays fixed.
How TextNEX is funded
TextNEX is free to use. To cover hosting and development, the site may show advertising from Google AdSense. Ads never have access to the text you enter into the tools. You can learn how advertising cookies work and how to opt out in our Privacy Policy.
