Removed tags
No tags removed yet.
Paste any HTML snippet and every tag is removed instantly, leaving just the text inside. Unlike a full HTML-to-text conversion, your original line breaks and indentation stay exactly where they were, which is ideal for cleaning up content copied from a CMS, a database export or a code editor.
Decode entities such as & and , remove the code inside <script> and <style> blocks, insert spaces so words do not run together, or keep specific tags like <b>, <i> or <a>. A summary lists every tag that was removed. Your HTML is processed as text in your browser and never executed.

Remove HTML Tags vs HTML to Plain Text
This tool deletes the tags and leaves the text exactly as it appears in the source, including its line breaks. That is the right choice for snippets, database fields and content where you want to keep control over the formatting.
To turn a whole web page or email into readable text, with paragraphs separated, lists bulleted and tables laid out in rows, use our HTML to Plain Text converter instead.
Frequently asked questions
Why are some words joined together after removing tags?
When two elements sit next to each other without a space, such as <p>One</p><p>Two</p>, removing the tags joins the words. Turn on “Replace tags with a space” to keep them apart.
Can I keep links or bold text?
Yes. Type the tag names in “Keep these tags”, for example a, b, strong. Those tags stay in the result with all their attributes.
What happens to JavaScript and CSS?
With “Remove script and style content” on, the code inside <script>, <style>, <noscript> and <template> is removed too. Turn it off to keep that content as text.
Does it handle a < sign that is not a tag?
Yes. A < that does not start a tag, as in “a < b”, is kept as text.
Is the HTML executed?
No. The HTML is read as plain text by a parser; scripts never run and images or other resources are never loaded.
Is my HTML uploaded?
No. Tags are removed in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
